Indian Sandstone Patio Paving in Petersfield - Project Overview

Location: Petersfield, Hampshire, UK

Materials Used: Fossil Mint Indian Sandstone, Sandstone Setts, Easy Joint, Oak Sleepers, Top Soil, Pro Grow Compost.

Fossil Mint Indian Sandstone

At the heart of our project in Lindford were the exceptional Fossil Mint Indian Sandstone Paving Slabs. This material was selected for its aesthetic appeal, combined durability, and ability to withstand wear and tear.

The enchantment of a mythical magic carpet pales when set against the collective happiness we derive from offering a well-built patio. We crafted a robust construction to withstand the rigours of daily life, ensuring that it can support the myriad of shared experiences that come with everyday use.

Sandstone Setts

The practical and appealing sandstone set was meticulously designed to create a cosy and welcoming space for the patio area. It was made sure that the arrangement complements the surrounding environment without detracting from or overwhelming the main centrepiece of the outdoor setting.

Easy Joint for the Win

Regarding the matter of the joints, we opted to utilise a product known as Easy Joint, which comes in a subtle mushroom shade. This jointing compound is straightforward and unadorned, designed solely to effectively fulfil its purpose.

It acts as the essential binder that cohesively unites everything while maintaining a low profile, never ostentatiously demanding attention. Its simplicity, efficiency, and straightforward approach make it stand out without any need for additional embellishments.

Raj Green Stepping Stones – Frosty Edition

Stepping stones serve a purpose that extends beyond mere functionality – they possess the potential to add an element of drama and flair to their surroundings. In our project, the property owners opted for Raj Green stepping stones, which we meticulously laid upon a carefully prepared bed of wet mix mortar to ensure stability and longevity.

Recognising the unpredictable nature of British weather, we took the prudent measure of incorporating frost protection into the mortar mixture. This step was not about indulging in excessiveness but rather about exercising practical foresight to safeguard the integrity of our work against the elements.

Oak Sleeper Planting Beds

It's interesting to note that sturdy wooden oak sleepers are not exclusively used for the railroad industry; they also serve an excellent purpose in erecting elevated plant beds. There's no need for elaborate or complex patterns, just the robust and reliable nature of solid wood to elevate the appearance of your garden space.

By filling these raised beds with eco-friendly soil – which is essentially a combination of nutrient-rich topsoil and professional-grade pro-grow compost – the aim was to ensure that the plants have an optimal environment they can thrive in and call their own.
